Rights Organizations meets with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs to discuss human rights developments in Egypt

Under-Secretary-General_Jeffrey_FeltmanThe Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies hosted a meeting yesterday, August 21, between Mr. Jeffery Feltman, United Nations’ Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs and 11 International and Egyptian Human Rights Organizations, to discuss the Human Rights situation in Egypt and review the current events from the organizations’ point of view to end this deterioration.

Representatives of 11 Egyptian Human Rights Organizations have participated in this meeting: Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies, Arab Network for Human Rights, Andalus Institute for Tolerance & Anti-violence Studies, The Egyptian Association For Community Participation Enhancement, Masriyon Against Religious Discrimination, National community for Human Rights and law, The Hesham Mobarak Law Center, Nazra for Feminist Studies, Center for Egyptian Women’s Legal Assistance, Amnesty International, and crisis action.
