Director of Cairo Institute for Human Rights meets with UN High Commissioner to discuss human rights in the MENA region, and presents recommendations of Arab civil society

This morning, Director of the Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies (CIHRS), Mr. Bahey el-din Hassan, met with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay to discuss the latest developments in the Middle East and North Africa.

Mr. Hassan thanked the High Commissioner and her office for the continuous support and principled voice on the human rights situation in the region since the beginning of the year.

Mr. Hassan also presented the current human rights trends and challenges facing the Arab region, including the deteriorating situation in Egypt. He further expressed the priorities, concerns, and recommendations of civil society in the region.
